The event welcomed young people from local charitable organisation Big Shoulders Fund, which has since 1986 provided support to schools with demonstrated need in the city.
Its objective is to not just strengthen educational centres in the region but whole communities, while preparing students for lifelong success.
All of the money raised by Big Shoulders Fund currently supports four major areas: scholarships and enrichment; operational improvements; academic programmes; leadership development.
Attendees were joined by Liverpool players Stefan Bajcetic, Harvey Elliott, Wataru Endo, Joe Gomez, Giorgi Mamardashvili and Kostas Tsimikas.
There, too, were club ambassadors Natasha Dowie and Ian Rush, as well as Reds legend Phil Thompson and mascot Mighty Red.
The Consul General in Chicago, Richard Hyde – who hails from Liverpool and is a huge LFC fan – also took part in the occasion.
Earlier in the day, Rush and Dowie, Robbie Fowler and Thompson, as well as chief executive officer Billy Hogan and chief legal and external affairs officer Jonathan Bamber met young people at the Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago.
The hospital treats more than a quarter of a million patients each year and its staff encompass 70 pediatric specialties.
Organised by LFC Foundation, the guests on behalf of the Reds visited some of the wards and took part in activities with the children.
