The 18-year-old has scored 10 goals across U21 and U19 levels this season, including a hat-trick in the Youth League win at LASK last month.

Head coach Page told Liverpoolfc.com: "He leads by example. He plays as he trains every single day, he gives everything he has got and I think he is a good example to the younger ones around him in our U19s squad.

"He's had his rewards and he's had a couple of opportunities to train with the first team. You get that with your attitude being right and also your ability to work hard, and your ability on top of that as well."

The young Reds now head to Turkiye to face Fenerbahce on Wednesday and are looking to maintain their unbeaten record in the competition so far this term, with the victory at LASK accompanied by home draws against Atletico Madrid and Villarreal.

Fenerbahce, meanwhile, have lost all three of their Youth League games this season.

Page said: "We have done well so far, I've been really pleased with the performances and we haven't lost yet.

"We had a tough test away to LASK because they caught us off guard a little bit, certainly in the first half. They then got a second goal in the second half. But it was great learnings for the lads. Our subs made a big difference and that's what you ask from your squad.

"The lads that come on, you want them to have an impact on the game and they certainly did that."

Liverpool dominated their last Youth League fixture against Villarreal but were unable to make the breakthrough and had to settle for a goalless draw.

"We were frustrated not to win that one, especially when you look back at the chances that we had," Page added.

"We created enough chances to win three games of football, but it was just one of those days. I was pleased with our performance and it's when you are not creating chances, that's the time to be concerned."

Oliver O'Connor has also impressed in the Youth League this season and Page stated: "Ollie has been in great form for us and with the U21s.

"We've asked him to play wide right, wide left, at right-back and as a No.8. We've asked him to play in multiple positions and he's just given us absolutely everything he has got. Ollie is a great lad to work with."
