The defender, who has been on the club's books since she was seven years of age, put pen to paper on fresh terms at the AXA Melwood Training Centre today.
With 49 senior appearances under her belt to date, Parry is excited to write the next chapter in her Reds story as the 2026-27 season approaches.
She sat down with Liverpoolfc.com to offer her immediate reaction to the deal – and you can read the interview below.
Lucy, congratulations, a new contract – how do you feel?
I'm delighted. This is exactly where I want to be. I'm just ready to push on and keep pushing and improving. I'm really excited for the new season.
It probably felt like a really big moment when you signed your last contract a couple of years ago. Does this feel like the most important contract that you've signed, though?
Yeah, I think so, in a way. Obviously last time I'd just come back, I'd been on loan [at Hibernian] and then I came back. I think the age I am now, I'm really ready to kick on. I feel good and I'm really excited.
You've been here since you were seven. How far away did that dream feel then, that you could be a footballer here?
I think if anyone was to tell me that, I would not have believed you. I've said it before, I was very shy and kept myself to myself. But I think as I've gone up through the age groups, I've obviously developed as a footballer but I also think myself as a person as well. I've learned so much about myself and I think maybe I'm not as shy as I was. It's kind of crazy and it's always been my dream.
Why is this club so special to you, Lucy?
Well, to start with, I'm a big fan, my whole family is. Ever since I was a kid, I had the new Liverpool kits. I just love this club, I love the city, I love everyone here and I just want to win for this club.
You were a record-breaker at 16, having been the youngest player to make your debut. Does that feel like it was five minutes ago or does it feel like a different lifetime altogether?
It's gone really quick but it also feels like quite a while ago. That was also a crazy moment. I'm just so grateful for all the opportunities that I've had and hopefully then get some more.
A key to that is the boss and Gareth Taylor obviously has faith in you now to step into that next phase of your career. How big a help has he been to you?
Very good. Obviously last season was tough on and off the pitch for everyone, and I think personally as well. I've had really good conversations with him and we can see what he's trying to do here. And I think as the season went on, we improved so much as a team. I think we have a really good time now, obviously pre-season, to push to that next level. So yeah, I'm just really excited, to be honest. And the work we do here, I'm just excited for where this team can go.
You had some really strong role models here as well through your career so far. The likes of Niamh Fahey, Gemma Bonner, Jasmine Matthews, they all played a big part in developing really good habits that you're almost passing on to the next generation...
Definitely. When I came up to the first team, it was a bit weird if I think about it [as] I'd obviously been watching them in the stands and then I'm in a meeting with them or I'm at lunch with them. Getting to know how they are day in, day out and what it takes to be a professional footballer, I think it's quite special that I've got to kind of live that day to day with them and learn a lot from them and take some good habits from them.
You've experienced the good times as a fan, you obviously experienced as a player finishing in the top four in 2023-24, which was huge. A difficult start last season but does it feel like a blip? Does it feel like this is a team on the up now and what happened at the start of last season can be almost consigned to the past?
You look and we had a lot of change and some things [were] out of our control. But what we had here, we all stuck together and we had each other, so I think that really helped us. And I think we stuck at it week in, week out and that showed towards the end of the season. Obviously we didn't finish where we would like to have finished, but I think this period we have now we're building something special.
Trophies are the aim now – is that a realistic aim for this team?
Yeah, definitely. I think in the [Women's FA] Cup last season, we got close and we were gutted to just miss out. I think that feeling of being close but not quite getting there, that just makes you want to push this season.
Let me ask you about Poppy. She wrote you a lovely letter. What did that mean to you, to read about the dreams that you probably had when you were her age?
It was one day in the off-season I came in and I had a letter. I read it and it was actually really nice. That just makes me think back to when I was a little kid and when I was getting autographs and photos. Then for me it was such a big dream. That was a really nice little letter to read, so thanks to Poppy.
What was in the letter? Tell people what the sentiments were that she expressed...
So I met Poppy in a signing in the stand at St Helens last season. Poppy just said she hopes I'm back fit soon, hopes to see me play and hopes I stay. That was really nice.
Probably what felt like two seconds ago, you had all these dreams of being a Liverpool footballer. How important is that role to you now as a professional that you are a trailblazer? All these players that you once looked up to, you're the next generation of those players...
Sometimes I kind of don't realise that, so I still look up to players that I did look up to. I just want to be myself and show that anything's possible and if you work hard and believe then you can get to wherever you want to get to. I'm just really grateful that I've been given the opportunities and been able to live my dream.
Last question for you, this is your club, you're so invested in your career but also invested in what this bigger picture looks like now. Are you excited about how the future looks for Liverpool FC Women?
Yeah, definitely. Like you said, I'm Liverpool through and through and I wouldn't want it any other way. This is exactly where I want to be. For me, I just want to push on every day, be the best version of myself. And with the team around me, I feel like we're something special here.
