The Reds are said to have firm interest in the centre-back with Newcastle United and Chelsea also credited with keeping tabs on the 24-year-old England international.
Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are also thought to be monitoring the situation, though Liverpool are said to be frontrunners for his signature should he depart Selhurst Park.
