The club was recognised at Monday’s ceremony for implementing an innovative, season-long programme of memorable fan experiences, shaped using supporter feedback.

The Northwest Football Awards have celebrated excellence both on and off the pitch in the region for almost two decades.

The Best Club Fan Engagement award recognises outstanding efforts to maintain and strengthen the relationship between a club and its supporters.

Prior to the 2025-26 season, LFC Women listened to fan feedback to develop a new and fresh approach to supporter engagement, recognising the opportunity to prioritise more personal, genuine moments that removed barriers between fans and players.

Driven by the principles of access, belonging and inclusion, this approach was achieved through a series of ‘Magic Moments’ – informal but authentic experiences designed to make fans feel valued and connected with the team.

From surprise player appearances on the concourse during a game’s build-up to post-match meet and greets, supporters were alongside their team at every stage.

These special experiences were not just limited to matchdays, but also during key moments throughout the season.

At the start of the 2025-26 campaign, season ticket holders were welcomed to a Q&A session with head coach Gareth Taylor and captain Grace Fisk, allowing for both the supporters and squad to reaffirm their shared ambitions for the seasons ahead.

To ensure supporters’ voices continue to be amplified and acknowledged, a Fan Forum was relaunched earlier this year to facilitate more open dialogue between the club and the fan base.

The forum provides an opportunity to test ideas, gather feedback, understand different perspectives and co-create future initiatives with the people they are designed for.

Jenny Beacham, chief financial officer and board member at LFC Women, said: “We’re delighted to receive this honour and to have the special relationship we have with our fans acknowledged on a regional stage.

“Our supporters are at the heart of everything we do, and we want them to feel that they are more than just spectators, but a part of our journey.

“We hope that this award, combined with the overwhelmingly positive response we received from fans last season, demonstrates our dedication to strengthen the connections between fans, players and the club.

“Looking ahead, we’re committed to using channels like the Fan Forum to build on last season’s fantastic work, creating even more ‘Magic Moments’ and ensuring that our supporters’ feelings are not only listened to but directly addressed.”
