Palace are reportedly demanding an £80 million fee for the 22-year-old, who was signed for an initial £18m from Blackburn Rovers two years ago.
The England international is not short of options with Manchester United and Chelsea both keen on a deal in the summer transfer window.
However, Marca reports that Liverpool have stepped up their interest and are currently in ‘advanced talks’ to sign Wharton from Palace.
