First-half goals from Hugo Ekitike and Jeremie Frimpong – on their competitive Reds debuts – sandwiched a Jean-Philippe Mateta penalty in response at Wembley on Sunday.
The Eagles then equalised again through Ismaila Sarr after the break and went on to win the penalty shootout 3-2 after normal time ended level at 2-2.
